Preston Park Museum

Preston Park Museum and Grounds is one of Teeside’s top tourist attractions. It reopened in 2012 following a £7million investment by Stockton Council, supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund. A key feature of the revamp is the development of the Museum’s education programme, for which e-availability was selected via a tender process to provide an online booking system.

e-availability worked closely with Preston Park Museum to design a comprehensive system for booking school visits and places on adult taster workshops online. A school bookings calendar helps schools plan a visit by indicating available spaces for both visiting the Museum and attending workshops. Once logged in, schools can book self-led visits, workshops appropriate to the keystage of their pupils and lunch sheds. The general public can browse and book places on a range of adult taster days and courses, for themselves and/or as a gift for someone else. Payments are taken using Stockton Council’s secure online payment system (eCapita).

Schools and other bookers are able to sign in to their account to view upcoming and past orders and schools can view important documents, such as the Museum’s Photo Permissions Form. e-availability's administration panel allows Preston Park Museum staff to add and manage learning activities such as setting the dates, keystage, maximum number of spaces and price for workshops. Extensive reporting features enable the Museum to measure visits and visitors, and much more.

Glenmore Lodge

Glenmore Lodge is a national sporting centre based in Aviemore providing coaching for all levels in many sporting activities. Training courses are delivered for sporting enthusiasts and assessment courses are carried out for leaders and instructors. Glenmore Lodge is also a national resource to the outdoor industry offering advice, event facilities and training.

With courses ranging from rock climbing, mountain biking, skiing, kayaking and first aid it was a priority for the centre to have a system which was appealing for visitors to view and easy to understand and navigate through. Our course booking system fitted their requirements and we quickly set to work integrated and coding the system into the website.

The course booking system has provided Glenmore Lodge with a user friendly system with the functionality required to reduce their administration and organise and schedule training courses more effectively. Different courses can be split into multiple groups, with course information displays; image uploads and full online booking facilities. The system is completely content managed enabling course info to be edited, pricing to be set, courses to be scheduled and customer data to be downloaded and analysed. There is also the option to set specific courses to "enquire now" if the course requires sales staff to speak directly to the student. The "enquire now" feature generates an enrolment form for visitors to fill in which will trigger e-mails to sales staff so they can complete the course booking process manually.

The system also has the facility to enable past students to click on any of the courses displayed and upload images and comments - great for letting potential customers hear about past students adventures!

The course booking system has been in operation at Glenmore Lodge for a number of years and the firm have seen a fantastic return on the initial investment made. Why not visit Glenmore Lodge to see e-availability.com's course booking system in action.
